Does physical activity improves cognitive health? As you age, sooner or later, father time will catch up to you. Besides losing muscle mass (sarcopenia) and strength, the aging process also affects our brain activity. Though it is part of the aging process it doesn’t mean that you should just wait for your time to pass by. In a recent study done by Dr. Nicole Spartano and her colleagues at Boston University School of Medicine found an association between higher levels of activity in mid and later life and a lower amount of brain shrinkage with age. Dr. Spartano and her colleagues don’t know why the decrease of brain activity is associated with physical activity. They said that one strong possibility is that activity helps keep the arteries clear. Narrowing of the arteries leading to the brain may be associated with brain aging and dementia. Personally, when I don’t exercise, I’m not as sharp mentally. I feel like my brain turn to mush. I’m less motivated and feel lethargic.

So what does this sign mean❓ You may think that it means something is wrong with the side of the pelvis that dropped down. But actually! The muscle weakness is seen on the leg the patient is using to stand 🦵🏼 The muscle weakness is in the gluteus medius/minimus muscle and is usually a sign of hip dysfunction. It's been 3 years since my last NNL competition where I placed 1st in Qualifiers at APEX NorCal, flew to NJ for the finals and fell at the end of Stage 1. Since then, I took a break from the national ninja competitions but my training hasn't stopped. Climbing, lifting and calisthenics sprinkled with ninja training here and there- always ready for the next challenge. Decided to get back into the game this year and MAN have I missed it! The hype, the obstacles, the COMMUNITY! This comp had 40+ competitors, and my goal was to have fun, give it my all and qualify for finals, and I am BEYOND stoked to have taken 2nd place🥈 Moving onto Finals in NC, and I'll be training for it ✊ HUGE thank you to all of you who supported me there and on IG, it made all the difference and I can't tell you how much I appreciate it ❤️🙏 to my girl @kara.miaaa for cheering me on, @arnold_h18 and @michaeliswong for helping me train for this moment this past month, and @scottewillson for organizing
