It feels good to be back in the 200’s! 225 felt fairly easy. Getting to 275 lbs I has trouble pushing up and on the second attempt I had trouble hitting depth and felt the pressure of the weight. I haven’t squatted this high since May. I’d say I can properly squat 250 lbs with effort which puts me at 90% of where I left off. I’m only going up from here on out!

BELT SQUAT These are a phenomenal addition to leg day routine 🍗🔥 For many clients, isometric back strength can be a limiting factor in the squat. Belt squats place the load around the hips instead. They are a great option if you have low back pain, or even wrist or elbow pain. If you don’t have a fancy pants machine like this you can just stand on 2 boxes and attach some kettlebells or plates to a chain belt. She loves squats, heavy lunges, KBS and sumo deadlifts because they’re all functional movements that everyone can do on some level; and who doesn’t want STRONG GLUTES??? 🍑🍑🍑🍑 Advice she would give to athletes who are new to CrossFit is “Move with purpose. Don't just go through the motions. Ask questions and don't be afraid to try something new. Stay consistent. If you are experiencing an injury, ask for guidance from myself or one of the coaching staff. You might think that resting (AKA not using/moving) that body part is the best thing, but honestly MOVEMENT is the best thing. The movement just needs to be safe and under the appropriate load/intensity/volume.” Lastly, a food that is her guilty pleasure are: Super dark chocolate and banana bread.
