LIFT WITH INTENTION 🤔 What do you do when you lift a weight? - Do you sling it from A to B with whatever muscle needs be to get it to move? - Or do you consciously think about what muscle SHOULD be fully engaged and lifting the weight? - Many do the former sadly - Ego lifting. No respect for control or technique. No idea what muscle is working or what compensations are having to be made to lift the load - Here we have a humble bicep curl as an example. I use this as it’s often move that many (men 🤦🏻‍♂️) butcher in terms of lifting way too much weight and with horrendous form - Now I’m not lifting much here at all, but I can tell you for sure that my peak bicep 💪🏻 head is engaged and that and ONLY that is lifting the weight! - Train smart. Feeling happy and healthy. De afgelopen weken heb ik vooral aan mezelf gespendeerd en zo veel gelukkiger en gezonder uitgekomen. Niet alleen erg veel bezig met sport en voeding, maar vooral met doelen stellen en ook de zelf discipline/mindset creëren om hier alles voor te doen. Ik ben sowieso een mens die structuur nodig heeft om goed te functioneren en kan nu veel meer met mijn dag dan de voorgaande weken. I’ve had a few days off training and I feel good. I’ve eaten lots and well. I’ve gone for a couple of walks but haven’t been overly active. I’ve been deeply intuitive, and I haven’t put any pressure on myself to do anything. And my body is grateful for it, feeling rested and less stressed. • My body is also softer and less defined. My strength is down. And my weight? Who knows. • And that’s ok. • Years ago, in the thick of disordered eating and compulsive exercise habits, I just didn’t take time off, I pushed through. If I couldn’t get to the gym, I would ‘adjust’ my eating and literally starve myself—or move excessively in other ways to make up for it. I would weigh myself every day and let that dictate how I felt. I would spend so much time in front of the mirror scrutinising my body and picking myself apart, squeezing my tummy fat and checking my thighs for signs of weight gain. • Then over time it became so that I could take time off, and engaged in

Literally put blood, sweat, and tears into this. I remember when I was first getting started, way before I developed my physique. People would criticize and hate. There are two kinds of people in the world. People who hate the success of others and people who let it fuel them. So before you assume that I 'post pictures for likes and attention.' Keep your mouth shut and realize that I make posts to motivate others. Just the other day I was in the gym doing muscle ups and while one person was complaining about my form, another person walked up to me asking me how the hell did I do that. I helped him out with the best of my knowledge. Same goes for when people dm me asking for fitness advice. Lot of people view bodybuilding as selfish, say that we're obsessed.
